Maktrans engineers have developed a new method for repairing valve bodies, in short - in some cases we use to repair the valve in its original size, but their diameter still differs from the original valve, it is larger by 0.005-0.007 mm. Such a valve can be installed without using a reamer, just polish the hole.

We show how this happens with the example of the valve body of JF011E (RE0F10A) CVT

Our valve body is removed from the box in which the belt broke, so that we already roughly know what to expect. Metal chips and small parts of a broken belt can get between the hole wall and the plunger and cause jamming.

 

We begin the vacuum testing of the Secondary Pulley Control valve and simultaneously check the valves for jamming

 

We checked 3 vacuum zones and obtained values of 15-17-8.5 inches of mercury, respectively. Let's get a native valve and look at it.

 

We take out the plunger and immediately see the scuffs on the anodized coating

 

We start filing the channel. For this we use three-dimensional abrasive material Scotch-Brite. It is ideally suited for this task, as it is specially designed to preserve the geometry of the machined surfaces.

A ready-made tool for filing is on sale, 4 holders of different diameters (4, 7, 10, 12 mm) are included in the set:

We put WD40 on abrasive material and proceed to polishing

 

We take a new valve of our own production

 

We install it and look at the readings of the vacuum tester

As we see, the values rose by 3-5 units. Here, each master must decide on the operability of such a valve. Our specialists, for example, know that 18-11-13 on this valve are good indicators, and it will work. But this is not a universal solution, and we do not recommend using such valves for repair if the primary vacuum test showed values below 10 inches r.s.

 

 

Now test the pressure reducing valve (Reducing Valve) 

 

Vacuum performance is good, but the plunger is also damaged and needs to be replaced. We polish the channel and install a new one

Now we are testing one of the most loaded and wearing valves - the torque converter lock-up valve (Lockup Control Valve)

 

The lock-up valve has critical wear, so the master decides to install a repair valve

 

                                                             We fix the plate on the machine and expand the hole

 

We install the lock up repair valve and test. The required tightness of the channel + plunger pair has been achieved.

 

In a similar way, the specialist checks the remaining valves of the valve body and makes a decision - either replaces for new ones or installs a corresponding oversized valve.

Such valves are an excellent repair option in cases where the valve body is not very worn.
