A bit of theory. Inside the solenoid there is a small steel valve that works in a bronze bushing. Under the influence of hot and dirty oil, or just after a certain run, a wearout appears in the bronze “nest” of the valve, while the self-adaptation mechanism of the box tracks this and causes the valve to move further to compensate for the wear of the hole. As a result, the hole wears out more and more.

Our task is to check the valve pair + hole for the presence of wearout. Adapter for testing is connected to a pre-calibrated vacuum tester, we set the solenoid and look. If the result is less than 20 inches of mercury, such a solenoid is definitely bad and must be replaced. We immediately warn you that if the result is higher than 20 in Hg - this means it is a working solenoid with a probability of 80%, only a full-fledged test stand can give an accurate verdict which will graphically display the solenoid plunger jamming in different areas.
