Input speed sensor TSS [Turbine Shaft Speed Sensor] FORD 10R80 | HL3P-7M101-AB 24284599
This sensor reads the number of revolutions from the magnetic ring located around the circumference of the front planetary gear. The magnetic ring consists of 40 rubberized magnets evenly spaced among themselves. The front planetary gear on which the magnetic ring is located is connected by splines to the transmission drive shaft. The very same planetary gear is installed in a cylindrical shell, which is made of non-ferrous metal, this allows the sensor to read the signal through the shell wall. This is the only sensor in the FORD 10R80 transmission that does not have a magnet at the tip of the sensor as the magnets are located around the circumference of the front planetary gear.
