The mechanics of the F Clutch are as follows:

Ring gear # 4 is mechanically inseparably connected to planetary gear # 1 by means of an aluminum cylinder (shell). Together with planetary gear # 1 and ring gear of planetary gear # 4, the friction discs of the F Clutch are connected by shell. When the F Clutch is engaged, SS6 [SSF] solenoid is activated

the # 4 ring gear can be connected to the # 2 planetary ring gear via the C Clutch. The # 4 planetary ring gear can also be connected to the # 3 planetary gear through the D Clutch.
