The main filter of automatic transmission AF-2 filters wear products up to 20 microns, such as corrosive material, adhesive bonding of friction discs, small chips from friction clutches and lock-up clutches.

An external filter is installed after a major overhaul, a complete oil change or the detection of chips in the system, it prevents wear products washed out with new oil from entering the valve body and solenoids.
