Pressure sensor [B] Low Clutch & High Clutch MAZDA FW6AEL | FZ01-21-2J0 FZ01212J0
The oil pressure sensor senses the pressure of the oil flowing to the clutch packs, which are made up of friction elements. The pressure sensor determines whether the required pressure is applied to the clutch packs depending on the selected driving mode, speed and gear selected. If the sensor detects that the pressure is insufficient or does not correspond to the preset factory parameters, during a certain driving mode there are problems with gear shifting, and the signal comes from the sensor to the TCM from it to the car's on-board computer in the form of a Check Engine indication on the instrument panel.
When diagnosing with diagnostic equipment, we get the following error codes::
P0842 – Oil Pressure Switch #1 (pressure switch B) Stuck ON;
P0877 – Oil Pressure Switch #4 (pressure switch B) Stuck ON;
P0780 – Gear Shifting Malfunction;
P1738 – Automatic Transmission Internal Malfunction.
All these errors indicate a malfunction or incorrect operation of the pressure sensor B. In most cases, the reason is dirty oil, or oil with particles of metal chips that are formed during mechanical wear of the transmission units. The sensor, also known as the relay / switches, is very sensitive to the quality of the oil and to various kinds of foreign micro particles in the oil. Based on these data, we can conclude that errors in the operation of the pressure sensor are an indirect sign of problems with the physical wear of the transmission parts.
Pressure sensor B has two switch "sensors". on the image]. This sensor monitors the pressure in the clutch packs High Clutch, which is involved in shifting gears 4-5-6, Low Clutch is involved in shifting 1-2-3-4 gears.
The sensor has a two-pin connector that connects to the TCM through the valve body internal wiring harness, namely a connector with red and white wires like pressure sensor A.
