The Shift Solenoid is responsible for gear shifting.
In the "ON" position, Solenoid A controls the Park / Revers / Neutral and 4 / Manual 1st gears.
In the "ON" position, solenoid B controls the Revers and Manual 1st gears.
If the solenoids fail, gear changes are accompanied by thumps or there are no gears.
