Oil pump A6GF1 GEN2 (second generation, with bearings)

The second generation of the A6GF1 pump has characteristic differences from the first generation by which you can easily identify it. The first generation pump GEN1 can be ordered by clicking on the link:

There are 8 oil channels on the end part of the hub housing.
The hub neck has a splined part which is divided into 4 "groups" of 7 splines.
A radial support needle bearing is mounted on the inner side of the neck. In the first generation pumps, a bimetallic bearing sleeve was installed in this place, along which the input shaft worked. Such a constructive solution led to uneven wear of the bushing, beating of the shaft in the seat, turning the bushing in the seat and further non-repairability of the hub. The bearing must prevent such failures.

Let's consider the main differences by which you can identify the second generation pump (GEN2) without disassembling.
The main characteristic marker of the fact that you have a pump of the second generation is the inscription "GF1", "GEN2" molded on the body. Also, you will pay attention to the inside of the pump housing, you can see the needle radial bearing, and not the bimetallic sleeve as in the first generation pumps.

If we delve deeper into the consideration of the differences by which it is possible to determine the pump of the second generation, then we need to separate the hub and the casing of the oil pump.
After disassembling the pump, pay attention to the gears of the oil pump. They have significant differences. The first thing that catches your eye is their thickness, they are much larger than the first generation pump gears. The housing seat has a shallower depth, therefore, the gears and gear housing are not interchangeable with similar parts of the first generation pump. The gears also have a larger number of teeth, on the driving gear there are 11 teeth, on the driven gear 12 teeth. In the first generation pump, the driving gear has 9 teeth, the driven has 10 teeth.
