The operation of the damper disc is to smooth out the bumps between the engine and the mechanical part of the automatic transmission that occur during gearshifting. With this aim, damping springs are used in the construction of the disc. Springs are finished with clips and directed by plastic holders. In this way, the race of damper springs is held inside the disc.Over time,  plastic parts are being destroyed, damper springs can also crack. As a consequence, there are bumpsduring gearshifting, fragments of the destroyed parts get into the mechanical part of the box, which causes other malfunctions.

The simplest, but also the most expensive, solution is to replace the damper disk with a new one.
