In the process of troubleshooting an automatic transmission, the condition of the driven and driving pulleys is assessed. If the pulleys are in good condition, they are subjected to a grinding procedure. If the pulleys have critical seizures, then you have to send the pulleys for replacement. There are also cracks in the pulleys.

The tightness of the pulleys can be checked by pumping oil or air.

Symptoms that indicate a problem with the pulleys are vibration when driving at idle.

The causes of vibration are slipping of the belt, chain on the surface of the pulley. (JF016E comes with a belt, JF017E - with a chain) due to dynamic loads, the belt can break, during sudden starts, swings back and forth, leading to a loss of pressure in the pulleys.

The reason for the slip is oil leakage through the pulleys, which are assembled from 2 parts by friction welding.

Leak elimination methods - laser weld the junction of the two halves.

In order to eliminate the leak, a part of the pulley is placed on a turntable and the crack due to which the leak was formed is eliminated by laser welding. The process of this work can be seen on the video.
