Hyundai updated the construction of drum  DIRECT , after replacing the sliding  bushing  by the needle bearing. After it the problems in the drum ended . The drum Direct transmits rotation on the reverse, third and fourth gears.

Amount  of drum  clutch plates  depends on the volume of engine. 1.8L engine has 3 friction and steel plates  1.4L and 1.6L engines. have 2 friction  and steel plates.
