The 6L45E transmission valve body used on BMW cars up to 2010 has an additional outlet on the upper plate. This outlet slot is one of the 6L45E valve body indicators for BMW vehicles.
Also, on the upper plate of the valve body, there is often a factory casting in the form of the number 1590 and the letter "A". But it should be noted that this code may not always be present on the top plate. It depends on the year of manufacture and the country of manufacture of the valve body.
In case you did not find a factory casting on the top plate, an additional outlet channel will be a distinctive feature (see the figure for location).
On the lower plate of the valve body, you can find the code 9581 or 6351 by which you can determine that in front of you is the valve body of the 6L45E transmission produced for BMW cars produced in the period before 2010.
