An adapter ring is utilized to offer extra support at the interface between the dual clutch damper and the flywheel.

Installing the ring resolves a common transmission fluid leakage issue at the junction of the flywheel and clutch damper. This problem becomes apparent at a car mileage of 70,000 km.
The causes involve a combination of factors that inevitably emerge during the car's operation. The primary factor is the radial axial runout resulting from the natural wear of transmission components, leading to the loss of the initial rigidity of the support at the flywheel and damper junction.
Substituting the flywheel and damper with new ones does not provide a lasting solution to eliminating the leak. After 2-3 thousand kilometers of driving following the replacement, the leak reoccurs. This occurs because minimal axial runout at high speeds persists due to the natural wear of bearings and bushings on shafts and components inside the transmission.
The installation of the ring compensates for axial runout and provides additional support, ensuring the correct positioning of the oil seals. This prevents the distortion of components and preventing leaks.
