One way clutch B1 is a roller overrunning clutch. 15 rollers, which are located between the outer ring (which at the same time serves as a support member for the multidisk brake B1 hydraulic plunger) and the inner ring, which is part of the planetary gear carrier. The outer ring is fixed by lug which is fixed to the transmission housing. Rollers slip in a rotational direction; they do not interfere with the freewheel rotation. When trying to rotate in the opposite direction the rollers enter the tapered gap. The inner ring is wedged relative to the outer ring. As a result, it excludes the possibility of rotation of the carrier planetary gear set in the reverse direction. Overrunning clutch in combination with other nodes of the switching mechanism serves to provide a soft power flux transfer. The reason for replacing the freewheel is often prolonged overheating and the aging of plastic.
