PowerShift DCT451 (MPS6) is a double wet clutch robotized transmission, installed on Ford Kuga, C-MAX, Mondeo and Volvo XC60, XC90, S80, S40, V60.

Earlier we talked about repairing the clutch and damper on the DCT451. Now we will consider one of the aspects of the double clutch repair in details.

If the damper collapses and does not smooth out the shock loads - the hub on which the K2 friction clutches work can be damaged, it looks like this, the hub simply cuts off along the welding seam.

Hub K2 can not be bought, because the clutch is sold as a separate node, which means you have two options  - either we change the clutch to a new or used one, or we repair it in Maktrans.

Now we will tell how the process of restoring look like. The technology is simple, the hub is fixed in a specially designed conductor and welded, after which an extra weld seam is removed at the lathe. The nuance lies in the fact that for such work requires an automatic welding installation that will allow you to put a seam without "skewing". To say simply, we need to restore the factory welding with all tolerances without outrun.
