In 2012, Mercedes, together with GETRAG, developed a 7-speed wet double clutch preselection automatic. The gearbox is robotic, intended for classes A, B, CLA, GLA. Thanks to software settings and a design that includes mechanical and electric oil pumps, the box has an extremely high efficiency and has a mechanism for adapting to driving style. Sport mode is also available. Rapid wear is caused by aggressive driving and insufficient control of oil cleanliness.
It is important to monitor the cleanliness of the transmission oil, since its contamination leads to problems in the operation of the clutch and the valve body and, accordingly, the control unit, it uses consumable plastic parts that normally serve the first years and at least 100 tkm.
Changes in work for the driver can manifest themselves in symptoms of jerks and thumps during operation, which can be corrected by flashing the ECU (electronic control unit).
The electronic control unit 724.0 (F-DCT / K7A350 / K7X350) can be flashed if the original numbers indicated on the spare part match.
The original number must match on the "old" block and on the "new" block.
Blocks with different original numbers cannot be programmed.
Programming can be done on the table (blocks are removed from the transmission) or on the car without dismantling the block.
