The mechanics of the F Clutch is as follows:

The No.3 planetary gear is located in the CDF clutch drum. No.3 planetary gear is connected to D clutch. When the D Clutch is engaged, activated by the SS4[SSD] solenoid, the No.3 planetary gear comes into contact with the No.2 ring gear.
