System START / STOP pump, FORD 10R80 | HL3P-7P086-DB
10R80 automatic start / stop transmissions are equipped with an auxiliary transmission fluid pump.
This electronic pump is activated before stopping the engine; allowing the transmission to remain "engaged" during standstill. This allows a quick response to engine restart and instant resupply as the transmission is already in gear. The auxiliary transmission fluid pump does not have enough flow to engage the clutch, but can only hold the clutch in the engaged position when the engine stops and the main oil pump stops supplying pressure.
