The drum hub 5-7-R Clutch and 6-7-8-9 Clutch of the nine-speed 9T65 transmission is interchangeable with the drum hub 3-5-R and 4-5-6 Clutch used in the six-speed GM transmissions of the 6T30, 6T40, 6T45 series. The hubs have the same physical dimensions and the same arrangement of Teflon rings on the hub. This option uses a hub for 3 Teflon rings.
