Important: If you don't erase the old adaptive tables, the transmission will try to apply the wear-patterns of the old unit to the refurbished unit. This leads to harsh shifts, flares, or even internal damage.
FORScan Reset Procedure
Use a laptop and an ELM327 adapter to perform the reset:
- Open FORScan and connect to the vehicle.
- Navigate to the Service Functions tab (the wrench icon).
- Select TCM: Reset Adaptive Learning.
- Click the Play button and follow the prompts.

Reconditioned FORD 8F40 transmission:

- For cars - FORD GALAXY 2.0 TDCI ECOBLUE 2018-2023.

Work performed:
Hard parts:
- OUTPUT planetary gear - replaced. OUTPUT planetary gear wear is a common fault in 8F40 transmissions.
Hydraulic unit:
- Tested on the bench. Solenoids replaced (if necessary, based on the results of testing on the bench).
Torque converter - repaired with complete disassembly.
- Replaced sealing rings, oil seals, bearings and worn parts (as needed).
Bushings:
- Torque converter/oil pump hub bushings - replaced with new ones.
Filters:
- Filters - replaced with new ones (cylindrical housing, main transmission filter).
Gaskets, seals:
- All gaskets and seals have been replaced with new ones.
- The B/E Clutch drum hub's Teflon rings have been replaced with reinforced plastic ones.
