Complete 0C8 (8-Speed) Transmission Overhaul & P0741 Resolution

To restore the heavy-duty performance of your 0C8 8-speed transmission, we perform a complete internal overhaul. This process is specifically designed to resolve the common P0741 / 17125 trouble code (Torque Converter Clutch slip) while eliminating wear across the entire gearbox.

1. Resolving Code P0741 / 17125 (Torque Converter & Oil Pump) When your vehicle triggers code P0741 or 17125, it means the torque converter's internal lock-up clutch is slipping. This causes higher engine RPMs on the highway, poor fuel economy, and excess heat.

  • Torque Converter Rebuild: We completely cut open and rebuild the torque converter, replacing the worn internal lock-up clutch lining to stop the slipping and permanently clear the fault code.

  • Oil Pump Replacement: A worn oil pump is often the root cause of the pressure drop that allows the torque converter to slip in the first place. We replace the oil pump with a new unit to restore maximum, consistent hydraulic line pressure throughout the transmission.

2. Internal Friction & Seal Restoration To ensure the transmission handles the high torque of your engine without slipping in any gear, we rebuild the internal rotating assemblies.

  • Friction Plates: We replace all worn clutch friction plates to restore factory gripping power and ensure smooth, firm gear changes.

  • Teflon Rings & Gaskets: We install brand-new gaskets and upgraded Teflon sealing rings. This eliminates internal hydraulic leaks, ensuring that fluid pressure goes exactly where it is needed without bleeding off.

3. Valve Body (Hydraulic Control) Repair The valve body is the complex hydraulic control center that directs fluid to the clutches and the torque converter.

  • We fully disassemble, clean, and repair the valve body. By restoring the internal valves, we ensure the transmission's computer can perfectly command shift timing and accurately apply the new torque converter clutch, preventing the P0741 code from returning.

4. Real-World Road Testing & Quality Assurance After the transmission is completely rebuilt, installed, and filled with fresh premium fluid, we perform a comprehensive road test.

  • We monitor the live data for the torque converter lock-up clutch at highway speeds to verify that the slip code (P0741/17125) is completely resolved and that all 8 gears shift flawlessly before returning your vehicle.
