Finding the right housing components is no easy task, even when purchasing a new housing by VIN, let alone used parts. The main reason for this is the huge variety of transmission modifications.
The only proven way to correctly select a used case is to compare the physical parameters, markings, and stamps.
Marking of the case.
If the transmission is disassembled, the markings that will help identify and select the housing on the website are located on the inside of the front housing, as shown in the photo.

In most cases, selecting the front housing based on markings is successful in 99% of cases.
Let's consider other features that will help you make the right choice:
You need to visually compare the housing in the photo with your housing. Check the shape of the front part of the housing (adjacent to the engine) and the shape of the rear part, which adjoins the rear housing.

Body width.
We know of two values for the body width:
- 109 mm;
- 118 mm;
Measure your body as shown in the picture.

Marking of the case.
The marking is located on the back of the case.

However, there are cases where the markings are illegible or damaged (due to an accident). In such cases, secondary features such as:
Visually compare the enclosure photo on the website with your enclosure. The shape of the front part of the enclosure adjacent to the bell housing and the shape (picture) of the enclosure on the side where the tray is installed should be identical.

Central housing bearings.
Particular attention should be paid to the bearings. Depending on the modification, two sizes (outer race) of double-row ball bearings are used:
- 96 mm;
99 mm;

The double-row ball bearing is a weak point in this transmission. At 150,000 km or more, noise appears in the transmission, increasing as the speed increases. This indicates bearing failure.
Timely diagnosis and replacement of the bearing will help avoid damage to other transmission components.

START-STOP
An electric oil pump for the START-STOP system is installed on the rear cover.

But the presence of a characteristic casting on the outer surface of the lid is not always a sign of the use of the START-STOP system; sometimes these are false channels.

Be sure to inspect the channels on the inside of the lid; they should be continuous.
Clutch basket height 2-6 / R-3-5 Brake.
Depending on the transmission modification, the 2-6 / R-3-5 Brake basket can have different heights, this is due to the different number of friction discs in the 2-6 Brake package.
49 mm / 5 friction discs 2-6 Brake;
44 mm / 4 friction discs 2-6 Brake;
